Eladrin

One of the Sentient Beings | Back to Wildlands

Eladrin

  • Eladrin are the high mystic elves, the kind of glamorous rock-star elf every Middle Realm elf has ever secretly dreamed of being. Of course, they do know that they’re perfect in every way and most will rarely hesitate to remind you of this fact, especially if you should be regarding them with anything less than perfect deference. Some have acclimated to their new role with a bit more grace, however. These Eladrin are often found in places of learning and magical research, while others bend their star-power towards social influence and leadership. It is rare to see a modern Eladrin take up a martial career, but when they do, they usually do predictably well, the buggers that they are.
  • Although they are almost unbearably Fey themselves, the Eladrin have a number of even more magical cousins who generally stay ensconced within the Feywild. These include Pixies, who are in point of fact more closely related to Gnomes, Faeries, who are to regular Eladrin as Eladrin are to boring old Middle-Realmnian Elves, and the Shadarkai, rather unfortunate Eladrin who have spent too much time in the extra-gloomy parts of the Feywild and had the color bled from them as a result.
    • Eladrin share a certain lithe body frame and quickness of foot with their Elven cousins, and as such most choose to exercise their Dexterity, earning them a +2 bonus. Every Eladrin has a certain otherworldly beauty and may well have sharpened their wit and political mettle in Court politics, even if they have yet to commit to Winter or Summer, earning them +2 Charisma. Of course, Eladrin also take pride in their ability to succeed in pretty much anything that strikes their fancy, enabling them to shift one of these bonuses to the statistic of their choosing. (See House Rule G for more information.)
    • Eladrin are at least as “large” as Middle Realm elves, although they have a habit of making regular elves look lanky and gawky by comparison.

So it’s magical charm and otherworldly foppery for you, young one? I’m sure you’ll do quite well. As an aside, it might be wise of you to decide whether to support the Winter or Summer courts. I’d be surprised if they ever deign to drag their faerie arses out of the Feywild, but stranger things have been known to happen, and you are, after all, under their geas. If you’ve made your choice, please go on to consider what occupation you might like to pursue as an adult. If not, by all means return to the Worlds or Sentient Beings.
